A series of images about TANGO, this amazing, passionate dance I shot with professional dancers and during milongas:
First and foremost, however, tango is all about the milongas; dreamy locales each different one from the other, where thousands of people meet, modestly outfitted still all protagonists in this fascinating expression of the joy of life, this awesome work of theatre without a stage.
My love affair with tango took root a few years ago at an enchanting location; in the foyer of Florence’s Teatro della Pergola. This artform manages to combine several elements of photography that have always left me spellbound: the quality of light and candid, rhythmic portraits. Needless to say, I was captivated from the beginning. When I entered the world of tango, I realised that I would be able to fuse my desire to offer a personal interpretation with that of re-creating a sense of harmony and movement with high-key lighting on facial expressions, tension running through arms and the delicate embraces of the dancers.
